How our extension and renovations work
Larger building projects such as home extensions and renovation will involve a host of skilled professionals and specialist craftsmen.
Every building project follows three key steps – Design, Specify and Build – and one of the first things you’ll need to do is to decide on your preferred way of making these steps happen. You have two main options. On the one hand, you can opt to take the traditional route, which will mean briefing an architect or design consultant to prepare plans – then inviting building contractors to bid for the work.
This way of buying is widely used in our industry and can work well. But if you already have plans, we will need to ensure the available information is sufficient by running them through our Project De-risking service, so you can have complete certainty on budget and quality. Alternatively, you can appoint a main contractor to take responsibility for all aspects of designing and building your project. This way of buying – most often referred to simply as Design & Build, has many advantages over the traditional approach.

Our commitment to Design & Build means that when you entrust us with your project, we will take responsibility for everything – from initial concept right the way through to completion.

Survey & Proposal
An opportunity to evaluate your project, listen to your requirements, and agree the scope of any major changes and new structures.
Within 10 days we will present a costed proposal and a week after that we will follow up to answer any questions you may have.
References & Instruction
We will arrange for you to visit some of our previously completed projects to see our work first hand. Following this you can instruct us to proceed on a fixed cost basis.
Design & Specification
We will prepare designs and technical details to your brief, and will deal with permissions & regulations. We’ll then guide you through a detailed list of specifications for the finished project so you know exactly what you’re getting and we can maximise the speed of the build.
A well – planned build with regular progress reviews to minimise disruption and maximise speed.
review & completion
When your beautifully completed project is ready for you to review with us and sign off, we will present your guarantees, regulations certificates, and an information pack.
Our client communication and job management system is designed specifically to keep clients, project managers and tradespeople informed on every aspect of the project, so you, our office, and our site team are always on the same page.
