Wallingford attic rooms
Conversion of an unused attic space in a 19th Century farm-workers cottage.
Space was created by removing an unused chimney breast and reinforcing the roof so a structural wall could be removed, which had the added bonus effect of making an existing 1st floor bedroom larger. Light flooding in from the two new Velux and the interesting features of the remaining asymmetric chimney breast create a bright and spacious room. Ample insulation in the upgraded roof ensure stable temperatures throughout the year, and eaves storage space adds to the practicality.
